Today, on this special occasion of Mother’s Day, I’d like to share some reflections from my journey as an entrepreneur—and also take this chance to properly introduce myself. Many of you may have seen my works or photos floating around social media, and I often hear, “You look familiar!” But you might not know who I really am. So today, let me tell you a little more about myself.

Hi! I’m Amelia, a mother of three wonderful children. Some people call me a brave woman. Some say I’m a dream-driven entrepreneur. Others see me as a tireless workaholic. But in my heart, I’m just an ordinary mother—someone who loves life, loves art, and often gets emotional over the tiniest details.

I used to work in the balloon decoration industry. During the pandemic, both my husband and I watched our event decoration business collapse overnight. It was a time of uncertainty and fear. But in our darkest moment, life led us to an unexpected encounter—with the art of paper carving.

I was deeply moved by its quiet elegance, and I decided to dive in, headfirst, with nothing but creativity and faith. Many thought we were crazy. "How could you switch to a field so unfamiliar, with almost no market awareness?" To be honest, even I couldn’t believe it at the time.

We had no income. No customers. No roadmap. Just a belief—and each other.
For two years, we poured our hearts into learning, exploring, and crafting. Every day, we created pieces we loved, even when no one was watching. And somehow, from those uncertain beginnings, Kamicarv was born.

Looking back, it truly was a wild and precious chapter of our lives. (Though now, I do think—maybe we were a little reckless!)

But what most people don’t see, behind the social media posts, is the struggle. The anxiety. The doubt. The moments I felt like giving up. There were times I questioned if I was strong enough to face the pressure .But then I’d remind myself : I am a mother of three. I must be strong. I want to show my children that it’s okay to dream—and even more, to chase those dreams. I want them to know that it’s not weakness to fall, but courage to rise again.

Every time I saw my children’s innocent smiles, it gave me the strength to push forward.
And today, I can finally say: we made it through.

Now, our paper carving works are slowly being recognized.
We’re seeing responses from the market, from social media, from clients who take the time to write to us. Some tell us our work brings peace to their daily lives. Some say it helped them reconnect with their inner calling. Others even call our pieces their "family heirlooms"—meant to be passed down through generations.

These messages—they’re the reason I keep going. Because I truly believe: beauty carries energy. And the pieces that touch people deeply are never just about technique.
It’s the emotion, the story behind each piece, that turns it into a memory worth keeping.

So today, on Mother’s Day, I want to speak to every mother reading this:  You are not someone who lives only for others. You are whole. You are unique. You have dreams, you have strength, and you have a light that is entirely your own.

You can be your child’s safe place, and also a shining presence on the world’s stage.
You can be gentle with your family, and still fight for your own dreams.
You are allowed to be tired. You are allowed to cry.
But don’t ever doubt— You also have the power to rise again, and chase what sets your soul on fire.

Please remember: You can be a mom, but you must also be you.

May you always stay connected to that softest part of yourself,
even while playing a thousand roles.
May all the love you give, someday return to you in warmth.
And may every quiet act of perseverance lead you to your own kind of glory.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible women out there. You are seen. You are valued. You are loved.
